Goal - To have a sufficiently high level of fitness so that I can do whatever challenge takes my interest. I joined GH&F in February 2012 following a groupon offer fully expecting to make the most of a few classes at a great price then disappear back to my own world of running and weights. Instead of a 'grab and dash' I was hooked from the start. Having always been into fitness - I know what I like and know what I don't - and I thought I knew what worked for me. Then, I discovered Good Health and Fitness. I LOVE the whole way the gym works and more so the care and interest by the staff who clearly know their stuff. The biggest appeal is the respectful way that 10 people, all at different fitness levels are treated in class. I work alongside clients who are being introduced to fitness for the first time and others that are exceptionally fit yet by the end of our session we have all worked equally hard and feel part of something a little bit different. Why??? I wonder myself as I have never been attracted to a gym before. I think it's because GH&F isn't simply functional and in 2012 I realised very quickly that I wasn't a nameless number that would be left to go through a process. I was and still am an individual that the trainers know, a person with faults that they work to correct and I am a middle aged lady that is constantly inspired and encouraged. For the first time ever I follow a program created by PTs that really know about fitness. From keeping a food diary to following a variety of classes and some PT sessions, my strength, fitness and flexibility improve continually. I am in the best shape I have ever been in and 2013 rewarded me with a PB for half marathon (18 minutes quicker than when I was 21!!) I completed my first ever marathon and I am now back in skinny jeans for the first time since my teens. I don't know for sure how they 'do it' but they absolutely 'do it' and I'm here for keeps. In decades to come if you see an 80 year old lady whirling around on those gym rings or pushing weights in the studio that will be me. Thank you GH&F!
