I was definitely in denial about my weight gain and it was when I was shopping with my sister and she was trying on some lovely summer clothes that I realised I had no hope of fitting or looking good in any of them. I come from a family of chefs so whilst my diet was filled with fresh home made food, we certainly didn't think twice about adding half stick of butter to mashed potatoes or adding cream to sauces etc. I have a nutrition background so I really had no excuses for getting to the weight I did.
I knew I had to find a gym I felt comfortable attending and when I came across Good Health and Fitness and reading about how friendly the gym was, I knew I had to give it a try. Within a week of deciding to call GHF I had my induction, had signed up to classes on my Free Week Pass and changed my diet completely. I reduced the saturated fat, added lots more greens and fruit, stopped nibbling at work- Balgove Larder is a dangerous place!- and also signed up to a 20 mile Pink Ribbon Walk.
All the trainers at the gym put such effort into the classes and Mike into my PT sessions, I feel constantly challenged and that is why I keep coming back. Since joining I have lost around 2 stone, my body has never looked better and most importantly I got my self confidence back. I tell anyone who will listen about GHF because I just think it is a great place!
